Styling a Tulle Skirt

 What I wore

Top – Topshop (similar) / skirt – Vintage / Shoes – New Look / Hair Accessory C/O Lindies Patch

Now if you’ve been here for a while you’ll probably be aware that I have a total of one hair style. Down. My natural curls, although I love them in many ways they do really limit what I can do. I can’t cut it, I can’t really put it up, hell – I can’t even brush it! So when I received this beautiful hair slide from Lindie’s Patch I was excited to find new ways to wear it, meaning I had to be more inventive with my own hair style. The gorgeous red colour gave me the perfect opportunity to whack out this incredible vintage skirt that’s been hiding in my wardrobe for years now waiting for its first outing.

I went for a brushed-out curl style for a party-ready look. A ballerina bun with the pin clipped underneath which definitely gave me a flash-back to dancing competitions when I was a kid! And last but not least, the classic high-ponytail with the clip on the top so it’s still nice and visible!

I always love what hair accessories look like in my hair but so rarely actually make the effort to style it in a way that does them justice. This clip that is hand-made by Lindie herself is so cute it can be worn dressed-up for a party or just on a daily basis! I think it’s perfect for bridesmaids, and also festival season. (The two occasions where flowers in your hair are pretty much the most important part of your outfit!)

  • I only ever wear my hair down too – I just can’t be bothered with the effort of tying it up! You really suit yours in a bun though <3

    • Hi Claire, thanks so much, I always put it in a bun to get an extra day before washing it but it is normally down!

  • The title grabbed my attention. My first thought was “another curly girl?! Thank god!” And then I had to read it.
I always wear my curls down because I think it looks better that way and if something important come up, I’ll be prepared, hair wise. As every curly-girl knows, once it’s up in a bun, it doesn’t come down until you was it! I’ve never found a good way to put my hair up. It always looks shabby. I think I’m going to give this a try and hope for the best!
P.S.: Don’t believe my thumbnail beside this comment. I took that on a rare occasion when I had my hair straightened.

    • Thanks, definitely give them a go, I imagine they work better on straighter styles too!
