Well looky here, two monthly favourites posts in a row! Wahoo! This month I’ve been lucky enough to try some really beautiful new bits and pieces that have given me the motivation to wear make up pretty much everyday. Which considering my 5 minute morning routine – that’s quite an achievement!
I tried my first Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick. I’ve been desperate to try them for a while, but have just never been able to justify the price, asking myself questions like ‘Can they really be that much better than a MAC?’ and ‘Milli – don’t you dare just buy a thing because it’s rose gold if you aint actually going to use it!’ But thanks to my birthday a lovely friend of mine treated me, (shout out to Cazlah!) and has possibly started a worrying habit. Red carpet red is a classic mid-to-dark red, that goes with pretty much every look imaginable – so if you want to try and are looking for a safe colour bet – this is your gal!
I’ve also never tried Clinique make-up before, and again ‘Milli don’t buy a thing just because it’s shaped like a flower’ is a thought that gets bashed around my head regularly when browsing the Selfridges beauty counters. This Blush Pop in Peach Pop is a great shade for my pale skin and I’ve always been prone to a good peachy pink blush as I’ve been told they work well for people with blue eyes. So yet again, good colour and pretty packaging combo wins the day!
My favourite nail colour at the moment is definitely Barry M’s Butterscotch Sundae from their new spring Gelly releases. Of all the pretty pinks and nudes they released this one is currently winning, because of its lack of pink tones. I love the fact that it’s about as neutral as a nail polish can get without being just nails. It’s so easy to wear as it goes with everything, and it looks smart and chic at the same time – something that I always try to emulate in my style choices *Flicks luscious blonde locks over shoulder*.
When I first tried the That’s How I Roll mascara I was not that impressed. But this baby really has grown on me. I use it every day now, as it creates a more natural look which I love. I was sceptical when I was told it the perfect dupe for Benefit’s Rollerlash – particularly as I love Rollerlash, and to be honest, it’s in no way a dupe for the product but I do understand the comparison’s as it does give a similar effect.
Then last but most certainly not least. The new addition to my daily routine that I already know I will be repurchasing for eternity. The Dermalogica Redness Relief Primer. I’d been looking for a decent primer that didn’t irritate my overly sensitive skin for, let’s say about 4 years now, and then this bad boy came into my life thanks to the skin saviours at Dermalogica and I will not be looking back. The green colour works brilliantly to counteract my redness, and it goes on smoothly, moisturises my skin, and allows my tinted moisturiser or foundation to glide on so easily, and stay in place all day. It really is my new wonder product.
Some of these products have been sent to me for review by the brands, but as always, all thoughts, feels, and strange internal monologue’s are of course my own.
