It’s been about 400 years since my last favourites post, which is thankfully at least plenty of time to gather a load more.
I’ve decided to try out a new image style for this post, so let me know what you think of the pictures – I’m always grateful for any and all photography tips, so please do comment below to let me know what you think.
I have fallen in love with the Olivia Palermo for Ciate collection, and no, not because I may have teeny tiny obsession with the lady herself. These nail colours are just perfect, I’ve always been a ‘nude or red’ kind of girl, so these suit me down to a T, and I’ve barely taken off ‘Sunday’ since I’ve owned it. It does take a few coats to get a deep colour, but even after one the tone comes through subtly for a natural look.
Make up Madness
My two favourite additions for my face this month are the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener. It’s like a highlighter concealer for those under eye bags – it’s not too heavy, so although doesn’t give great coverage it’s perfect for days when you just want a quick solution to hide any tiredness, and pop out with a ‘no makeup’ look. Alternatively, I use it over my other, my heavier concealer if I want a bit more coverage, but still want the bright highlighter finish that this gives.
Call me ‘late to the party’ Milli, because this Nars Blusher in Orgasm is possibly one of the most talked about of 2015. But here I am, a year later, telling you about it now. Yep. cool. Basically it’s a nice colour and a bit shimmery and I like it. You can probably find a better review somewhere else / you’ve already read 785034720 so I wont tell you anymore.
My Shower Sanctuary
Another smell I was introduced to recently, Sanctuary Spa’s Wild Lily and Damask Rose. This scent is so light and floral, it’s girly without being too sickly sweet like some other popular shower gels I’ve tried recently. The build up of fragrance when using all three makes me feel fresh, and pretty for the rest of the day.
The Scent of Home
Sticking to a theme, Tea is my all time favourite smell. Honestly, it just takes a packet of English Breakfast tea bags to get my nostrils excited, so having this cute tin of tea leaves just makes me feel all kinds of happy, homely feels. My dad used to work in the tea industry so a lot of my memories of my childhood home and trips in my dads car come with the fragrance of tea. Smells aside, I also love drinking it. Since I gave up coffee a few months ago, I drink so much tea. All the time. So having a proper brew once in a while make’s it a real treat, rather than just a routine, or, let’s be honest, a necessity to get through a day of work.
I was given my first Neom candle for Christmas and I just can’t get enough. For anyone out there who hasn’t tried them yet, trust me, they give Diptyque and Ms Malone a run for their money. Lavender, Jasmine, and Brazilian Rosewood scent makes me feel so relaxed. I’ve been lighting it every morning when I get out of the shower to get my day off to a calm and peaceful start.
